अमरावतीच्या मेळघाटात बालमृत्यू, मातामृत्यू अशा अनेक आरोग्याच्या समस्या गेल्या अनेक वर्षापासून कायम आहे, अशिक्षित असलेले आदिवासी डॉक्टरकडे जाऊन उपचार घेण्यापेक्षा भूमकाकडे (एक प्रकारचे मांत्रिक) जाऊन उपचार घेतात. त्यामुळे मेळघाटातील 600 च्यावर मांत्रिकांच्या माध्यमातून आरोग्य व्यवस्था रुग्णांपर्यंत पोहोचवली जाणार आहे.
